Target People en Espanol Event

The Situation: 

San Antonio’s People en Espanol Festival is a 2-day celebration of Latino heritage and culture.
Target, the event’s presenting sponsor, had a massive presence at the event, and wanted to provide
festival guests with an immersive, larger-than-life experience that featured the experiences found
within the Beauty, Hair, Fashion & Grocery areas of an actual Target store.
Target already had a giant (80-foot) shopping basket that attendees could enter, but…what would
they put inside to give guests the experience they were after?

The Solution: 

VStar designers worked with ElementoL2 on the 4 stations within the basket, each highlighting a
different shopping experience and activity that features a department with an actual Target store:
- BEAUTY featured a 15’ tall “compact” and lipstick, along with 4 beauty stations for people to get
their make-up done
- HAIR was anchored by a 20-foot hair dryer and 2 fully functional hair salon stations .
- FASHION included a 30-foot tall dress on a hanger that served as a thematic backdrop for
runway shows.
-GROCERY included giant vegetable and fruit props that framed a cooking demonstration station
and backdrop comprised of active video monitors.
It all added up to a lasting impression for Target, and a celebration of La Vida Target.
